Hippie Couture Statement Jewelry

statement jewelryHi everybody, hope you’re having a fabulous week so far! Recently I’ve been inspired by jewelry so I decided to dig through my vintage chains and brooches and make something new and exciting from them. The result is the Hippie Couture statement jewelry collection!

Here are just a few of the pieces that are now available on the Hippie Couture website. Each piece is handmade with love and one of a kind, meant to capture a vintage luxury vibe with a hint of rock n roll. My desire is that everyone who purchases a Hippie Couture statement necklace will feel like a rockstar when they wear it out!

madonna in vogue 1992Before MK, Nicole, and Sienna…….there was Madonna! O.K., it may have been a brief period of Boho for her, but none the less Madonna appeared in Vogue back in 1992 sporting a laid-back hippie vibe! I think Madonna is fabulous but it seems strange to see her in a bohemian style.

Regardless, Madonna has always been a source of inspiration for me. I love that she reinvents herself and has learned to disregard her critics. She is fierce!

Below are the pics from Vogue taken by famous photographer, Steven Meisel.

Have a safe and sexy weekend!

I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name

girl on carouselThere’s just something so peaceful about riding a horse on a beautiful mountain trail or alongside the ocean…..you know, the stuff we usually only see in the movies! I had a desert ride scheduled when I was out in Vegas but ran out of time and have been wanting to find a place to ride ever since.

Here’s a few pics from my inspiration folder and a cool video from America called “Horse with no name”. If you subscribe by email and can’t see the video, go directly to Boho Glamour.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! What would be your dream place to go horseback riding?

Love All Around,
Cara Mia ♥

GYPSY DECOR: Style Tips and Pics

neon gypsyIf you are looking to capture the gypsy vibe for your home, apartment, dorm room, or even the back of a van or camper, here are a few gypsy decor tips and pics to give you some ideas.

First thing to remember is have fun with color! Try adding a few ethnic printed throw pillows to a solid color sofa to liven it up. Maybe you have an old dresser or end table that you have been thinking about getting rid of, why not throw a bright turquoise or pink coat of paint on it to give it a whole new character?

Another fabulous way to bring a relaxing atmosphere to your space is indoor plants. I’d like to think I have a pretty cool bohemian/hippie vibe to my house, but something has just been missing. My neighbor recently invited me over for cocktails and as soon as I saw her place I knew what the missing element was….plants! She had enough to make it cozy and peaceful without being overwhelming….exactly what I have been looking for. Ironically, a few days later she left a small plant for me on my doorstep….now I just have to keep it alive. 🙂

A great way to bring ambiance to a room is with candles. Every time I go to a thrift store I look for unique candle holders. They are all different shapes and sizes, but they seem to fit together well once the candles are in place. Try covering a low sitting coffee table with a piece of your favorite fabric or a psychedelic tapestry. Then scatter the candles and holders across the table, along with a small plant or stack of books and you’re all set.

If you have any of your own gypsy/bohemian decor ideas, leave a comment and share them with everyone. 🙂
